What is Implant Treatment?

Implant treatment involves the use of artificial roots, similar to titanium screws, which are placed into the jawbone to replace missing teeth. These artificial roots integrate with the jawbone like natural teeth, and prosthetic teeth are placed on top. Implants are a more durable and long-lasting option compared to alternatives such as dentures or bridges for replacing missing teeth.

When is Implant Treatment Performed?

Implant treatment is applied to individuals with missing teeth. Tooth loss can occur due to various reasons (accidents, decay, gum diseases, etc.), and implants are preferred to replace the missing teeth.

Who is Not a Candidate for Implants?

Implant treatment is not suitable for everyone. To be an eligible candidate, at least one of the following conditions should be met:

      1. Adequate thickness and height of the jawbone are required.
      2. General health conditions should be suitable for implant surgery (approval from a doctor is necessary if there are conditions like heart disease or diabetes).
      3. Good oral hygiene and absence of gum diseases are essential.

Is There Much Pain After Surgery?

Mild discomfort and soreness may be experienced after implant surgery. However, typically, these pains are mild and manageable. Your dentist will provide you with suitable pain relievers and instructions to reduce post-operative discomfort.

What is the Treatment Process? How Long Does It Take?

Implant treatment consists of several stages. In the first stage, implants are placed into the jawbone, and a waiting period is allowed for them to heal. Then, prosthetic teeth are created and attached to the implants. The treatment process may vary depending on the number of implants, the patient’s condition, and the chosen method. Generally, it takes between 3 to 6 months to complete.

    What is the All-on-4 Technique?

    Implant

The All-on-4 technique is an implant treatment method where four implants are placed into the jawbone. With this method, all the teeth for one jaw are fixed onto a prosthesis using only four implants. This reduces the number of implants used, leading to a shorter treatment time and cost reduction.

    What is the All-on-Six Technique?

    Implant

The All-on-Six technique is an implant treatment method where six implants are placed into the jawbone. This technique also involves fixing all the teeth for one jaw onto a prosthesis using six implants. More implant usage can provide better stability for the prosthesis.

What is Immediate Loading (Immediate Implant)?

    Implant

Immediate loading, also known as “same-day teeth,” is a method where the prosthetic teeth are attached immediately after implant placement. In traditional implant treatment, there is usually a healing period after implant placement, and the prosthetic teeth are attached later. However, with immediate loading, it is possible to have the prosthetic teeth on the same day as the implant placement.

How Soon After Implant Treatment Should I Go for a Check-Up?

After implant treatment, it is essential to attend regular check-ups as advised by your dentist. Usually, the first check-up is scheduled one week after the treatment, followed by further visits as recommended by your dentist. Regular check-ups are crucial to monitor the health and fit of the implants and prosthetic teeth.
